| Scrap Puppets make your rubbish talk! |
SIXPACK presents...
Facilitated by six professional puppeteers
(all with workshop teaching experience),
schools can choose from Shadow puppetry,
rod puppetry, hand puppetry or all three!
Participants work in small groups with two facilitators learning the mechanisms for
each style of puppetry, then making their own take home puppet. An introduction
into puppet manipulation if followed by a short performance from each group.
The Scrap Puppets workshops are designed to inspire creativity in young people,
to demystify puppetry, showing them that anyone can make and manipulate a
puppet, and tell a story through puppetry. Everyday objects, things we would
normally throw away (plastic bottles, scraps of material, string, rubber bands,
aluminum foil, packaging, paper clips - and more) can be used to create something
beautiful, and functional if you use your imagination!
All materials will be provided with an emphasis on using found objects, and
recycled materials to create unique puppet characters. The materials used will be
recycled, clean, and safe for young children.
Workshop Fee:
$200.00 per 1.5 hour session
40 participants maximum
