In the ‘Object Theatre and Clowning’ workshop,
participants approach object rediscovery through the
clown persona, undertaking serious play to rediscover
the form, function, meanings, and metaphors of
known objects.

Through exercises participants use their bodies,
objects, and puppet parts to create new forms for
puppetry and visual theatre.

DISCOVER YOUR BODY AS A PUPPET
Hand Puppetry is one of the oldest forms of puppetry,
and traditionally one of the most irreverent. The Naked
Hand & Hand Puppetry Workshop aims to introduce
participants to Hand Puppet making, manipulation,
creation and performance.

Participants begin the workshop by building their own
character mask. Cheap, recycled materials are used to
encourage the participants to create interesting forms, not
necessarily beautiful, or beautifully crafted forms.
Cardboard boxes are an ideal tool for this workshop as
they are light, strong, and can be used to create
interesting angles, planes and curves on the mask.
